Comment on Predicting Future Tablets by Alex

My 2 predictions are:
1) double the size but folding - would give people double the screen size and when the keyboard is on the screen it would be a great size and still leave adequate screen area
2) same size but foldable so that it is half the size and fits in your pocket.

I like your prediction too. I really see the tablet as an interim technology that will eventually fade out as laptops and tablets become one.

My main gripe these days is with the OS or user interface. Basically I want my tablet to operate like my laptop or desktop - ie I want to be able to see files independently of the Applications. I want to be able to move things around and organise where the files live. I want syncing to be better and not run through iTunes which always seems to want to wipe something. Finally, USB ports!!!

I think my next tablet will be an Android but we'll see if that's really any better...

I can't even begin to tell you the anxiety that this causes me. I could live with the entire "fundamental shift" had Apple bothered to explain it to me in any meaningful way. I have flashbacks of my first marriage, where I was expected to be a mind reader. I don't care how logical and simple it is: You can't just take users like us and "hide" this without explanation.

Great info on backing up and excellent tip on using a separate cloud provider for redundancy. Definitely a life saver for small firm lawyers.

I am actually a student working on a project at Ridacto, which uses artificial intelligence to help attorneys draft bulletproof contracts. We're also working on some collaboration technology to move contract revision to the cloud which would also act as a form of backup. Thanks once again for the insights.

True. However, even when there is an audiobook available, I that doesn't prevent you from having the book read to you. If I want the computer to read it to me, I don't see why I can't have that. It's not stepping on the audiobook rights any more than having a person read the book to me.

Great post. There's got to be a workaround to this. Accessibility is covered under DMCA. TTS would be a wonderful alternative to niche books where the publisher doesn't offer an audiobook version.

Expertise and experience in the field will guarantee a successful resolution for your case. When selecting a lawyer, you should also consider whether he/she has a good past track record.

I'm also using a Plantronics Voyager Pro HD and can get it to work with Skype (on a Mac), but after a few minutes, people on the other end start hearing an echo and my voice begins to crack. I can't get it to work at all with Google Chat even though I have added it to the Mic and Speaker settings within Google Chat. If you have any suggestions, I would be VERY grateful.

Sincerely,
Brandon
